We had a little accident today.... Mags tried to climb on to a table in our lobby and was reminded who was boss when the table landed on his head. He only bled a little bit, and didn't really cry, just used his best 2 year old whine before he hopped back up and started running away from the mean lady with tylenol and ice. It's a pretty good bump, but fortunately it didn't knock all his vocabulary out of his head. He still has lots to say!!!

an old new rocking chair

My grandma gave me this rocking chair when I was a little girl. I always loved it, and so when my mom asked if I wanted it the other day while we were cleaning out her basement I jumped on it! of Course it was pink and all cute and NOT made for a boy to sit in, so I did my best to make it a unisex chair for all of my children to a have a turn. What do you think? Here's the before, you can't really see but there are pink dots and flowers on it. had to sand those right off!

He's gotten so BIG! and he does so well at the table, I can't tell you what a relief it is.This time he was scooping a spoonful of cereal, then removing all the cereal so he could slurp the milk out of the spoon. Cereal milk is the best isn't it?

We're bidding the highchair farewell as Mags takes his spot at the table on a big boy chair!! I have to make a booster now because he's just short enough but he does great. He started climbing off his chair this morning and I thought he was going to start the battle of "i can go wherever I want because I'm not strapped in" but he was picking up a piece of cereal that fell to the floor. Then he climbed up and put it back in his bowl. He's all about putting things back where they came from...even boogies. :) Hoo-ray for my big boy!!! I'll get a picture up when I get a memory card back in my camera.

I got a job. It starts in the fall I get to work in the daycare/ preschool at snow college. It means I get to take Mags with me to work everyday and that when school is out I'm out too. I'm super excited. I get to work with the infants.

Window Garden

If you know me then you should be able to guess what the string of pictures is. My love for Mod Podge+ Mormon Tupperware+ some seed packets= My lovely window garden. You can do one too it's not too late!!! I used some old 16 oz Cool whip containers and covered them in mod podge and craft paper for the "pots" that are going to stay in the window all summer, or at least the plants that are staying in the same pot all summer. I used other containers to start my seeds in, sour cream container, the bottom of a milk jug, whatever you have really. these were for my tomatoes and peppers who get to move up to a bigger pot once this snow stops. grrrrrr!my cilantro is doing GREAT! as are my tomatoes, 2 pepper plants and my sunflowers. my parsley and spearmint are being shy, and today we planted some dahlias and african daisies.
I also got 80 onion bulbs for a $1.50 which I will plant outside once it warms up. the weather is still being so wish-washy. It makes for a grumpy toddler too!
so next time your at the store buy a large container of cool whip, (the GV brand is like a dollar) some seeds and some modpodge and have some fun!

With my scrapbooking anyway!!! I officially finished our family photo album through March of this year. Considering I had ZILCH of it done when I started this project almost 3 weeks ago, I'd say I did pretty good. I will also have to say that we are not very good at taking pictures, which is probably why it didn't take me very long and why I only spent 40$ getting almost 300 pictures printed (and shipped). But now I can move on to yet another project that is taking up space on my table. Raise your hand (or leave a comment) if you have at least 2 projects going at once. Me, I'm broken I can think of at least 6 projects that I have started that need finishing. don't believe me? baby blanket for Kellie (need to fix sewing machine first), Fix sewing machine (?) dishcloths for fellow man (4 out of 6 complete), afghan for ugly green couch (3 measly squares to finish the corner, 3! That would only take me like an hour!), baby decoration with his name on it (printed out the page), table cloth (sitting under scrapbook supplies). I know I have more, they are just in hiding so I don't have to feel guilty. I'm a broken project finisher. I can only start them. Anyone out there good at finishing things want to come to my house? :)

My frustration at the complete paradox of the credit report and score. I have recently checked my credit score to find that it was satisfactory to me and that I haven't done any major damage to myself by going into debt, something that we have been taught. DON'T GO INTO DEBT!!! ok fine, so I don't. I pay my bills on time and I clearly, don't go into debt. However it is becoming more and more apparent that I need a half decent credit score so that one day I can buy a house or a nicer car, if the need arose. So I thought, Why not try to build a really solid credit score and report? We went to a class and we were told credit cards are a good idea to help build that-sadly- much needed credit score. So I have now applied for a loan, and at least 2 credit cards only to be told that "I have insufficient Credit history to allow them to approve" What the heck? How am I supposed to open an account open to build my credit if no one will approve me for one without me having one already open. It's upside down and why can't we just live in the times where you traded jam, milk and chickens to get what you need?

More Spring Break

So we had a fun week for the rest of our spring break. On Wednesday we had a pot luck with some of the international students in our dorm and their friends. It was so much FUN!!!! Mags has some new girlfriends, they love a cute little white baby!

This picture is my favorite one, She actually ate her entire donut with chopsticks. Love it!!

We had dumplings, sushi, krispie kremes, chinese pizza, eggplant, wontons and white ball dessert. Most of it was pretty yummy, I'm not very brave with new foods, but it was good!
Then on Thursday, We drove up to Lehi and watched Alice in Wonderland, which I wasn't expecting to love as much as I did. It was GREAT!Last Saturday we drove up to Ogden and got our new Mini van! well, it's not new, it's a 2002, but it's 10 years younger than our other car and it will take us up a mountain so we can go camping this summer. We're so excited!!! Karen and I also got to help Rachel get ready for her 9th grade night dance which was fun. She looked adorable!
This Saturday we did our first family fun run! The Badgers Against Alcohol and Drugs hosted a 5k and we did it together! Magnum could've finished in half the time but he stuck with me and my slowness the whole time! Mags fell asleep in the stroller, but we both got T-shirts and it was a lot of fun.A few girls from our dorm did it too!
It was a really bumpy ride around ephraim, but he slept through the last 10 minutes!

Spring Break?

I guess Spring break hasn't officially started, but this is how we have spent the weekend before it anyway.. .. ..
First: fix the washing machine, Mags was such a good helper...Daddy didn't really fix anything, mostly he took parts out and put them back in, but it seems to be working ok now, so maybe that's all it needed. We also discovered the source of the smell that emanates from the washer when it's empty.... I won't even tell you cause I don't want to think about it...
then on Sunday while Mommy and Mags took a nap, Daddy:Made a snow-Man? a Snow finger? you decide but it is almost as tall as him.... YAY Daddy!Yes, he spray painted the face on and yes- There is a carrot nose, a spray-painted one.
and yes, Magnum is the ONLY one left that gets excited about the snow... in MARCH! Happy St. Patty's day!

Also I have finally finished some curtains for Mags' room so that it can be a little darker for naps2 bed sheets cut in half (I only used one half of each) and some stars cut out of my recently retired favorite pair of jeans. (every pair of jeans is my favorite pair) My only problem is that I have to use a spring bar to put these up and every time I touch it, they fall down. Luckily I have a tall man around to put them back up, every single day.

Well I will update ya'll on the rest of our Spring Break adventures in the snowy and cold land of Ephraim.

a day in the life

of a toddler- you, your child, your siblings, we all pretty much did the same things everyday to keep our mom's on their toes. This is how my son keeps me on mine and keeps me smiling!

He does climb in there all by himself, and he just stayed there so I put a blanket on him and said good night. He'll probably start taking his naps in trees this summer.
Not to mention unrolling and eating the TP, climbing in and out of the stroller, emptying EVERY drawer in EVERY room, unfolding all my recently folded laundry, oh, and climbing into his crib (he hasn't figured out how to get out of it yet, PHEW!)

so we sent daddy off to class and began cleaning up breakfast. I had 1/4 of my waffle left on my plate and was getting ready to toss it when I was distracted. hmmm, anyway, short story I saw my son climb up on the chair, back down and didn't think any more of it. A few minutes later I walked past his room to find this:
He snatched the last chunk of my waffle out from under my nose and ran off to his room to eat it. do we see a eating disorder in the making? hope not. :) I love watching him get his little personality, he thinks he's SO Funny! which, I'll have to admit, he is. He wandered around all morning with a plastic spoon and some alphabet magnets in a sour cream container, stirring them and then feeding me. so sweet to share.

I finished my jewelery display project. picture frames, minus glass, plus foam board plus some scrapbook paper glued to the frame and Voila`! anyway, it was fun and a lot faster than I thought it would be. but here was project number 4 that was much much faster than I ever thought it would have to be...

My son can open the front door and walk out into the lobby, all by himself which necessitated our beautiful new baby gate. Yay MAGS!!!

I had a ton of random left-over christmas fabric from stockings 2 years ago and I finally had mom help me cut out a small quilt for decor. It's cuter than it looks and there are words around the white border, but I'm happy to announce that this project that was started less than a month ago is now FINISHED!!! woot!

I've already started on the one project I was super excited about and I will post pictures soon because I'm almost done with that one too. Also yesterday and today I've been crocheting dishcloths. I finished 2 already. I can't make those awesome knitted ones that everyone else in my family knows how to make, but I found a pattern for crocheted ones and they turned out pretty cute too. I started quilting this blanket by hand in High school, when spiderman started to be cool again. It has only needed a binding on the edge...something I hate to do. It only took me about an hour and a half grand total after 5 years of unfinished yuck, It is done. Woot! Woot!

I love a new year! It's like opening a package of a fresh new something that smells good or crinkles with newness. I'm super excited right now for this new year, It's going to be a good one. We rang in our new year with an OK night's sleep and a wedding in Vegas (Congrats Mandi and Tanner) anyway, we're excited to be back in Ephraim after a long trip to a crazy busy city.

I'm getting ready to make some parts of my home a little more organized. I was reading mom's Better Homes magazines yesterday and I am excited to try some new things to make my house more functional. I will be happy to post my progress and show pictures, even if nobody looks at or admires my work but me. my first goal is to finish all my stupid little projects, 100 of which are started and ..... then I am going to start some more!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to get these pictures up. Truth be told, I haven't even uploaded them to the computer yet...hmmmm do I need to get organized or what?

He wasn't hip on getting messy at first, but after he tasted it he liked it a lot.
He got an early bath and was much happier to hang out with his cuz in their jammies.
This is how I find him, when I can't hear him or when he's just keeping himself company. He loves to look at books, and tear them up and eat them, but mostly he just turns the pages. I think being in 2nd grade for a few months must have had some effect. (maybe a summer of college classes with mommy helped too!)

So I thought I was SO clever making a kid named Magnum Morgan and M&M for halloween. and then as he was crawling around on halloween I realized that a spider costume would have been easier, and very funny. with 2 extra little legs coming out his torso on a shirt and bouncing on the ground as he crawled. oh well, maybe the next kid. Also, I made a very yummy treat the other night I thought I might share, Calling all lovers of muddy buddies, try this variation:

2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 1/2TBS Butter
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
-Melt together in microwave, it's better to take it out and stir before the chocolate chips melt all the way. They will finish melting as you stir.

Now instead of pouring them over your chex, pour over bowl of popcorn. (One bag of microwave is just about right) approximately 5 cups, popped.

Put chocolate covered popcorn in gallon size ziploc bag, pour in 1 cup of Powdered sugar and shake until popcorn is covered. (I usually don't measure my powdered sugar, but these are better with a little extra anyway, to have a nice coating over the chocolate)

Enjoy right away out of the bag, or refrigerate for a few hours and enjoy cold. SO TASTY!

My rocking chair used to belong to my mother in law, and it was a dark green color. Well, the padding was, anyway, whether out of boredom (WHAT! Shocking I know!) or the need for color in a mostly white baby room, I colorified the padding with some great fabric from wally world. It was fun and now there's something worth looking at in Mags' room. (Also here's a pic of how he is sleeping right now. I love technology!

Friday night cleaning

Anyone who knows me well or has lived with me in the past 4 years knows that I love to clean on a friday night. Don't ask me why I did it when I was single and I found myself in the odd position tonight with a strong desire to clean. not organize, CLEAN! so I pulled out the windex and the clorox wipes and went to town in the bathroom. I finished off one quick wipe down of the counter and tossed the wipe in the toilet- I hate having germs sitting in the garbage, and don't try to tell me it doesn't matter- anyway the toilet was on my list at the end, because I hate cleaning the toilet. Anyway, I flushed the toilet and lo and behold if the clorox wipe didn't do it's job on the way down the drain! it actually cleaned the bowl of the toilet and it looked quite nice! so the next time you don't want to touch your toilet to clean it, I know you can spare at least one clorox wipe. If you don't keep them handy DO IT! I would recommend it to everyone to have them always. I use mine daily and one container has lasted me since JUNE! Clorox owes me at least $100 for that little pitch I just threw out to the world. Happy Cleaning!

Well we are in Ephraim and loving it! not bored at all!!! Ok, maybe a little but I'll take being slightly bored and having time to read over being crazy busy in UT county ANY day! Mags is growing and figuring out the whole crawling thing. He mostly has the "bounce" before the crawl down pat. Today he was extra grumpy because of a little white tooth that is popping up from his bottom gums. That might also explain my pain every time we nurse! Any way he is cute and he loves to walk around campus in his stroller. Love to all from the beautiful city of Ephraim!

To update! it's been a ride! but a fun one that we're so glad is over. It's been kind of hard to say goodbye, first to my students and for Magnum, to Ty and for Mini Mags to Grandma. But, I don't think it's too bittersweet. We're too excited to move to be sad right now. I just want to say a Big WOO-HOO! Because we did it. We got through the first year of teaching, the first pregnancy and baby all in one piece. I had a good team backing me up and we are more than grateful for all the love and help we had from all angles.

I graduated! Magnum passed his classes with flying colors, and we are doing well! sorry to not post in forever, for the few of you who actually look at this blog. I do, quite frequently, and wonder why it hasn't changed yet. then I realized that there are not little magic blogging fairies that do your bidding the way they do your laundry. I actually have a husband that is so sweet to do our laundry and the dishes. No ladies, he's not for rent nor can you borrow him. He's ALL MINE! Mags is doing great. grabbing and sucking/chewing on everything except his rice cereal. He makes a face spits out half and then try again. Life goes on and we love it! Pictures will soon come. Here's a super cute, and short, clip of Mags when he was in a good mood. He hasn't had very many of these moments lately, he's been pretty croupy the past few days giving us not much sleep and some frustration. He seems to be getting a little better. But here's what else is happening in the Morgan home:

Mags went to his 4 month appointment and he now weighs 15.1 lbs, 25 in long and is healthy and happy! *except for right now, he's not very happy.
We got the RA position (even the dorm we wanted, thanks to Chris) and we'll be moving to Ephraim in June if we're lucky enough!
I took my praxis exam yesterday morning. We'll find out if I passed in about a month.
Other than that we're all just hanging in! My sweetie has been so good to me lately, actually not just lately, he's always so good to me. He's been getting up with Mags and doing the laundry and I just want him to know how much I love and appreciate him. He always waits for me to finish up my business at the school and is always willing to help me get stuff done so we can go home and relax together. Thanks for all you do my love!

So I finally decided to add more pictures, because let's face it, what good is a blog really without fun pictures. My boy is growing like a weed! he's HUGE! ok, so there are probably bigger babies out there, but I am really running out of jammies for the kid, he's quickly growing out of his 3-6 month jammies, of which I only had 4 pair left that did fit. Luckily I guess he's still too small for the 6-9 month ones. Anyway, here is my sweet boy taking a bath. Warning: Contains nudity-but not too much. So here, admire what a cute baby he is!

So tonight was haircut night for Magnum, earlier today was my final 'formal evaluation' for school and tomorrow we go to Snow for the first RA interview. There will be 3 by the time they finish up with the interviewing process and hopefully, if we get called back to all three, it will be worth the trips down and back, the subs plans and the money in gas. but don't get me wrong, any time spent in Ephraim is time well spent! Wish us luck!

I'm finished!!! Today I completed my last project and in a matter of hours I get to turn in my Senior Portfolio and relax. I really am so excited I literally can't stop smiling! I finished what may have been the hardest year and a half of my education and I am beyond relieved to be done! After today everything I need to have my bachelors degree will be finished, I just have to sit and wait til next summer for my diploma. And hooray for my sweetie! He finishes his last final for the semester and probably his last final at UVU! (I say probably because you never know what might happen, I said I'd never go to UVSC, but the Lord had a better plan...) Magnum is going to be doing online classes through SNOW next semester for lots of reasons, but mostly just because snow college rocks and uvu...doesn't. :) So have the merriest Christmas EVER this year, smile lots and love even more!

so I'm sitting in my lovely basement, minding my own when everything begins to rumble. and no it wasn't anything explosive coming from my sleeping son, and sad to say I haven't been outside in 2 days (maybe 3...ok so it's REALLY sad) but for whatever reason, Orem city decided they needed to tear up the sidewalk and asphalt on the adjacent driveway to ours. Not that the orange barricades aren't holiday cheer enough, but why go a tear up half of a shared driveway now? I guess it's not really a matter of when, but why do it at all? I guess its not really my business and the jackhammering that shakes my apt isn't waking up Mags, so why do I care? Then again I haven't been outside so it's very possible they have moved from the driveway to my front porch for all I know.

We blessed baby Mags on Sunday. he led all the other babies in the congregation in a beautiful chorus of cries while his dad gave a beautiful blessing. It was amazing and we are so lucky to have such a great dad and husband. (Me and Mags are both writing right now because he is occupying my other hand forcing me to type one handed.) Nine months of waiting finally paid off on Sunday the 9th when our baby finally got here safe and sound. I was not about to go back to work on monday, so we walked probably an extra 2 miles on Saturday to get him here before then. That and getting my membranes stripped on Friday combined with Jerusha climbing on my tummy made me pretty confident that I wouldn't have to go back and I was right!
To make a short story even shorter, my water broke at 3:00 (am) we made it to the hospital just after 4:00. I was at a 3 when they checked me, 2 hours later after about 2 and 1/2 laps around the L&D area I was ready to deliver. 15 minutes of pushing (probably closer to 10) and by 6:44 he was here! 6 lbs. 13 oz and 19 in long. He's the sweetest thing ever and we are so lucky to have such a healthy baby!

sorry to disappoint, I can't take pictures of myself, and lately the only one with the camera has been me. so here are pictures of our lovely garden, which I weeded and took pictures of to prove it. Also, I named all my plants after harry potter characters. The tomatoes are: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George and Severus oh, and the big one is McGonagal. I would just like to say that there are only 12 days left in this month of May and I am SO GLAD I might wet myself. (which If I sneeze is actually a possibility lately) Magnum just finished his clinicals for his CNA class on friday and there are only 6 more days of class until that is all over. It's been rough my I am so proud of my sweetheart. He has stepped up to the challenge and even does the dishes for me. I married a wonderful man. no doubt about it. I am also almost done with my first block of classes which means there are only 9 and 1/2 weeks left before I really have to start panicking! Anyway, I don't say this to brag, because I'm not sure if I even have braggin rights over this, I just want to share the tender mercy my Heavenly Father gave me this last week. I was lamenting Friday morning over having to take out a loan for the summer semester in my last year of school. I have been lucky enough to not have to take out one loan for my entire college career and I was really bummed to have to do so now. Later that day I was working on my MPN when class began and I had to stop part way through it. Afterwords I returned and decided to see how much money I really needed to take out. What to my surprise I had recieved 1000$ in grants from different places that had already been applied to my account. I honestly don't know how it happens, but Heavenly Father has taken such good care of us. That was totally unexpected and such a blessing now that I don't have to take out a loan at all!! I am one happy camper!

So I know that most of you that read my blog already know, but for those of you who don't: I'm going to have a baby. Yep, in November. It's scary and it's a little crazy, especially considering how busy my schedule is already, but here we are and we're gonna have a baby! I've been a little bit hesitant to put this news out in the open, for several reasons. I won't lie, I wasn't sure what to do with it when we discovered it, let alone how to tell my family not to mention my friends. I know how people view having children while 'we're still young and beautiful' and I know how people look at girls who are having children while still in school. I would hope that those who know me would be delicate enough not to call me crazy or absolutely off my rocker, I know that I'm taking on possibly the biggest challenge of my life right now. I'm trying to work, go to summer school, graduate and get ready for my first year of teaching oh, and I'm going to have my first baby right in the middle of it. I am lucky enough to have a very supportive and patient husband by my side (between 10:00 at night and 7:00 in the morning at least) and I am very scared but ecited. (the letter that goes between the e and the c in that word is broken on this machine...) I know what criticism can potentially be thrown at me for trying to take on so much at one time, but hey, It wasn't my idea and if anyone has a problem with what I'm doing, talk to Heavenly Father (and while you are, feel free to ask for some etra help sent my way) He has a plan in store for me and I know that it can only make me stronger. I am grateful for that because it means he's not ignoring me. So far he has blessed me with a very healthy pregnancy. I have had no morning sickness, minimal nausea and only thrown up twice (due to a stomch flu and some bad lasagne) So when I get through this year of potential disaster, and when I emerge from my first year of teaching( hopefully with some of my hair still in place) I will thank you all for your loving support and your prayers! ( And your favorite baby names, I have a million logged away somewhere but I can only recall like 4 of them.)

so I made it into the internship which means summer school, graduation in December and yes, I will be a teacher in my own classroom in august! I'm teaching at Aspen Elementary in Orem as a second grade teacher! we are very excited and looking to move north so if you know anyone looking for a place to live in downtown provo, send them our way! also, if you hear of any open apts. in north orem/AF/PG area please let us know! We are soo excited! and I am very nervous, but Heavenly father let it happen (despite the interview) so I guess it's meant to be!

DISNEYLAND!!!

I had many of my dreams come true last week, disneyland was amazing! I love it there! California was nice and warm, I even got a tan! (ok, let's be honest, I fry my skin, then it turns to tan and back to white again.) Here are some pictures, only a few of the 200 or more I put on the computer last night.

This was our first picture with a disney character, they were hard to come by but Pluto didn't mind, nor did he have a line of people waiting to get their picture with him. Pure Luck!

Battle between Magnum and Hopper. I'd have to say that Hopper would probably win, he has a much meaner look than Mags. We had so much fun at the Bug town. We went to the 'Tough to be a Bug' show. defn'tly one of my favorites.

On the top, My reaction to Heimlich's chew chew train, on the bottom my horror on the tower of Terror. I don't know what made me think I would be safe on that ride, but I really, almost died of fright, unlike my husband, who was loving every minute of my blood-curdling screams and squeezing his leg til it was numb.

We managed to sneak a couple pictures of Tigger and Mary Poppins before they ran too far away, and actually, the picture of Mary is taken from 20 yards or so away. thank goodness for digital cropping. She walked right by me, but I wasn't ready, so I got her backside.
The Ducks were everywhere! This one landed on the rock right next to my head.
And the queen of Hearts decided that Magnum was just her size and kissed him on the cheek. we were just hoping that it wasn't a man inside the costume, cause that's a pretty tall woman!
We didn't get any fun pictures of Pirates, but that is the favorite ride at Disneyland. We watched Fantasmic Friday night and it was absolutely incredible! We also got to watch the Parade down main street, but the battery died in the camera. Needless to say the trip was so much fun, although short, we had a blast!

We are leaving tomorrow for the greatest place on earth! we've been wishing, and hoping, and thinking and praying that I can get into the internship program this year. (which, bytheway, has me scared out of my wits because I'll be in my own classroom in the fall. ) but, it also means that we won't have a break from school or work until next may. That seemed too long of a drag for us, so we decided to take the break we know we can get now, and pray for the best. So come spring break, we headed to CALIFORNIA! and we are so excited! I have never been to the land of disney before and Magnum has been dreaming about it, and I have been, of course, panicing a little bit, but here we go! wish luck and we'll have more pictures than ANYONE cares to see when we get back! Bon Voyage!

My phone story

So I guess not all have heard the toilet phone story. It goes like this: I was walking to the bathroom at work and stopped to express my distaste for my cell phone to a co-worker. I had a razor and it was just too flat and hard for me to use. I went into the bathroom and my phone, in order to express its own distaste for me, JUMPED out of my pocket and into the watery pool below. No longer will I carry a phone in my pockets or into the bathroom with me. my new phone is lovely however. (And no, I didn't throw my phone into the toiletry abyss so that I could get a new one. It was much more expensive than my liking.)

I finally got my new phone! Many of you heard about the toilet tragedy at the end of last year involving my pink razor phone. I now have a new working phone for which I am so grateful. It only took a little over a month to get it here, but it happened! Thanks to daddy for taking care of it for me. Also, who keeps praying for the snow!? I'm cold dang it! And I'm also quite sick of being sick.

I guess I kinda went out of order on the cast thing. So here are some pictures of what magnum did to break his hand. The bottom one may give you a hint as to WHY it happened, I'm not sure if the picture was taken WHEN it happened, but you get the idea. Anyway, Sunday he did what he threatened to do from the beginning and cut off his own cast. Much to my and the Dr.'s dismay. His hand is fine and life is almost back to normal. School is so crazy for me right now I can hardly keep track of my hair brush let alone the million presentations and assignments I have to do. Of course, anyone who knows me knows that the things i use most (keys, cell phone, work badge, hairbrush) get lost a minimum of once a day so you can imagine what my backpack looks like...wherever it is. Life is good at the morgan home! and Today is FRIDAY!!!!! YAY!

Magnum DID go get his hand x-rayed, and it IS broken. He is sporting the newest in 2008's style of black cast from the base of the fingers to just below the wrist. Only two weeks with a cast on will fix it! hoo ray! We're definitely counting our blessings that the damage was so minor. here's the picture he agreed to let me take.

so I haven't done really great with the no-sugar act of 2008, so stop putting it in my face!! ;) however, I have made it out of bved everyday this week to do denise austin workout videos in the morning. I know, that's only 2 days, but that's 2 days more than last week. Also, a co-worker and I have decided to sit on exercise balls at work to continue our workout during the day. so far the results are very tired legs, sore abs and sore butt. Trust me though, work is way more fun now that I can bounce while I type. I've also taken to eating veggies and fruits. I don't like veggies very much, I'm slowly learning. I feel like I haven't made goals in vain this year. I will keep all posted to keep ME on my toes.

Magnum has decided to get his jammed hand x-rayed today. All it took was some guy in class that had to have surgeries because of not getting his injury checked out right away, so it caused even more damaged. I think that influenced my stubborn husband enough to go to the doctor. That, or the fact that I made the appointment so he had no choice anymore! :)

I just thought I'd put it out there for the world to see...okay, at least my family....this is the year! 2008! we made it! I have one huge goal...stop eating sugar! I am going to avoid sweets and candy and yes, even chocolate. ( however, I reserve the right once a month to eat a mini sized hershey bar on my lucky week ;) If you see sugar on my person, at my house, on my desk, in my pocket, please remove it!!!! don't let me tempt myself and feel free to steal said food from me whenever possible! I have really enjoyed my holidays, as I promised, as well as discovered that sugar gives me the worst stomachache in the world, hence, my goal. besides, this should help me cut back on spending unnecessary money on sweets.

I guess Christmas is a time of reflection. so upon the brief fifteen seconds I spent in deep thought, I have returned (safely) back to the dreary world we all live in and I am grateful for many things... a few of which include:

My husband, who is so very good to me and puts up with all my strangeness and family parties ( keep your eyes out for a picture of magnum as rudolf)

Work and school, I am happy to report that we will both be in school again next semester! and all classes were passed and glad to be done! but I am looking forward to completing my program and getting magnum into his.

I am grateful for the christmas season and all the blessings it brings. Families close together and a spirit in the air that can't be ignored by virtually anyone.

I would encourage you all to spread whatever joy you may feel, whether through a secret santa gift, or a better tip at the restaurant, Christmas is a time for giving. I pray that we can take that spirit with us throughout the rest of the year. God Bless! and Merry Christmas!

...Had a blast. M&M World and the Coke store, Vegas Temple and....what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. JK, Ever seen the World's largest Chocolate fountain? I have. It was pretty sweet. And the Bellagio fountain was absolutely amazing! Keep your eyes out I'm going to firgure out how to get a video on this blog so you can all enjoy the fountains too. We had Magnum's friend Diana showing us around down town, then we went to an air show that was cool, and crowded. We all had a great time though. just need more sleep!

Here's the battle, do we go grocery shopping tonight and spend a good 100-200$ on food so we can eat this month, or do we go to Vegas this weekend? On one hand, I've never been to Vegas and it would mean a fun trip and a different temple to visit, on the other hand, I'm really hungry right now. SO I probably shouldn't go shopping on an empty stomach. Nor should I be blogging right now as I have some homework to type up.

....Our cupboard contains hamburger helper, and in our Freezer: no hamburger.

why is that? now I can't even make a meal from a meal in a box! how lame to produce a product that claims to be a meal in a box, yet the contents of the box are not enough to make the meal. So what if, like us, you have a hamburger helper box with no hamburger. What else could you help? Tuna? Chicken? Pork? No, you can't do that, for they have created the Tuna Helper and The Chicken shake'n'bake stuff to help your poultry. Now you are left with no choice but to eat a so-called 'helper meal' without any help from something such as a main ingredient.
